Hey Ilen, and Maggie, and Heather and Jean Anne, at the very least:  A friend pointed this little girl's eighteenth century costume dress out to me this evening. It's gorgeous, and forget Katie - I want it for myself! :)

Are you sure there aren't any 18th century events we can costume for? If I could ever persuade her to wear anything like it, Katie would be lovely in this.

oh lovely. Reminds me of something I bought for myself on Second Life recently, actually (same period: I'm pretty sure the same painter supplied the models for this dress and the frockcoat ensemble I bought).

I don't want to build it, I just want to draw it and have it magically arrive.

The kidlet would much rather be Buffy or Gwen (from either Torchwood or Ben Ten) than let me dress her up in something this pretty.

She's going to be an Akatsuki (villian from Naruto (manga comics she likes)). I've got the two layers of the robe done, so I'm about half way.

Love the icon! I do hope we can get my daughter to pose as Buffy when she's a little older! :)

And [livejournal.com profile] eac...wow. That's a *lot* of dress! I can't believe the seamstress is just giving it away. That's also a very patient girl, though.

This was last years Halloween. She's also dressed up as Tonks (for the Deathly Hallows release party), and Hermione/Ginny (for the Half Blood Prince release). She likes to be characters that kick butt rather just look pretty.

Wow...just wow.

Considering that my little one wanted to be a barrel of Toxic Waste for Halloween, and then settled her heart on being a big black pot of gold, I wonder if she would ever go for a gown like this.

I DID go to a vineyard in Napa yesterday to a place that grounds that looked like something out of a french fairy tale, and sold bubbly stuff. They said that they have parties rent out the entire space and do french period parties, several times a year.

and me, alas, without my glass slipper.

If you had a dress like that, we would all have to have one too, so that appropriate parties could ensue.

pretty costumes

My 5 yr old niece has decided she wants to be a little goth fairy (and no, I was not the one to give her the idea! :-) Complete with black wings, striped tights, and little Demonia boots.

:sniff: I'm so proud.
